I want to run a few web apps MS Teams, Whatsapp etc. as standalone apps. With Chrome/Edge/Brave/Firefox having native Apple Silicon support I was wondering if one browser is better than the other for running these type of apps?
From a mobile perspective is one of these web browsers more efficient on battery?
I use Edge for running Teams on my M1 – it’s waaaaaay better than running the actual standalone Teams app. It supports installing Teams as a progressive web app, which is more convenient than hunting for a tab or a bookmark. Edge is decent otherwise; it has a few Microsoft annoyances that are easy enough to turn off, and the updating is much less aggressive than Chrome.
