Best service for monitoring web pages and/or online services?

Situation:
I need to ensure that some services of my own and my clients work (ie are up and reachable over internet).
I have used Uptime Robot for a while and it has worked good.
Now they will start charge for this, which I have no big problem with ($7/month).

Question:
Before I subscribe I’d like to hear if someone use a better system or supplier?

You–or hire a developer–to create your own. Not complicated. I know and use Python, so I searched “web site monitor python” and found some ideas. Yes of course to make and maintain your own might require a bit of learning–offsetting that against the cost you are objecting to.

Thanks for the input!
I have thought about that, but my own server may go down as well. Then I need redundant servers and services, and well it suddenly became a lot more complicated…
Easier to just pay someone for the job I think.

I agree. Esp since you are doing this on behalf of clients who hopefully are paying you for this service you provide to them.

I use Uptime Kuma on fly.io for that.

(And additionally healthchecks on a VPS, which monitors Uptime Kuma and Uptime Kuma in turn monitors healthchecks ).

I have looked at a couple of alternatives, but can’t find any that’s:
• Ready to use.
• Cheaper than $7/month.
• Have an iPhone function with push notifications.

There are free alternatives, but then you have to build some functions yourself. I’m too lazy for that.

It’s been years since I was active on the site but spiceworks.com was a useful source of info when I worked in I.T.

Thanks, they don’t seem to have any push function though.
