Better Touch Tool (BTT) - Help with configuration files and sync

Multi-year light user of BTT. Still relatively new to the program.

Attempting to level-up and create some new macros, totally confused trying to backup my configurations and sync them before possibly losing everything.

BTT seems to be very un-Maclike in how settings (aka preferences) are handled.

Does anyone have a cheat-sheet or a straightforward TL;DR on how to save all my customized settings and macros into a file and then sync that file to another installation of BTT on another computer?

From what I gather, there is still no smooth and reliable cloud sync using iCloud or DropBox?

I’ve tried exporting with what I thought is the correct command, manually tranferring the file to the the other computer and importing it, but none of my defined macros show up.

Part of my confusion is that the settings panel allows multiple files to be listed and I’m confused how that works and there is a pull-down menu to select (or activate?) one of them?

Same here, been using BTT for a couple of years now but the documentation cannot keep up with the developer’s pace of new features

Regarding sync, I’ve been using its “experimental” feature and it has been working correctly for me for quite som time without any hiccups.

Perhaps you imported your settings in the new computer as a new “preset”?

That might be it. Can you explain that a bit more and what I should be doing instead or looking at more closely?

Frankly, I have no idea. Preset management is one of those features that I haven’t looked into. But I see that, over time, I have accumulated several “Presets” that have the same name along with other presets that have been imported by me from stuff that was shared in BTT forums. I have this dialog that pops up when clicking on the upper right corner of BTT main dialog window. And it has an intriguing “Select Master preset”, perhaps it’s something to investigate.
