Bike.app users - are you still using it?

I am interested to know if those who used Hogbay’s Bike app at launch are still using it.

I resisted for a while (reason given here ) However, I buckled and I am using it under subscription.

My biggest disappointment is the lack of export options. I use outliners a lot. I use them to start mind maps in OPML. So it does this very well - but no better than anyone else. I also start most of my writing in an outliner, so I prefer some level of export option. Bike has none, which surprised me as it is positioned as writing tool. I can save out through .bike, .opml and .txt. but the text option strips out any formatting, so unless you write in markdown (in which case the in app formatting is pointless) it offers no advantage.

I really like the app, but I am just not sure what it gives me above any other outliner. Really interested in your thoughts - I think I am missing something

Outliner forum has an inter ting thread on bike.[Outliner Software: Bike Outliner: Adds Row Types](https://Outliner Software: Bike Outliner: Adds Row Types)

I use Bike mostly for meeting notes and thinking through ideas. It’s replaced OmniOutliner for me.

I think you meant to link this thread? Outliner Software: Bike Outliner: Adds Row Types

I’m not a regular user but I like how light it feels. Moving the cursor and indents is almost game-like.

I really like outliners, on a deep level, so I’m naturally biased towards it plus a bunch of its competitors.

Also, you’d think an outliner software forum would have a really sexy nested discussion format!

Thanks.

I find Omnioutliner quite a heavy app - the inspector feels very complicated, however many times I use it! But it does have a decent range of export options.

I agree. It is probably the best outlining experience I have had. I could use Bike to write then Omnioutliner to import the OPML for export to other formats.

Which is why I will probably buy it
