For folks that want to use the iPad as a laptop Brydge has new offerings that work with the newest as well as previous versions of the M1 iPad Pro/Air.

- They’re heavier than Apple’s Magic Keyboard. The upside of this is that it does not flip backwards when used on the lap! I usually use it on a pillow in my lap so I appreciate that it doesn’t flip backward which the Magic Keyboard did all the time.
- The trackpad is large and well done BUT not as good in terms of palm rejection when using tap-to-click
- The typing experience is excellent with backlight and full function row.
- It is Bluetooth but connects fairly quickly. It’s not felt like a problem though it’s obviously not “always on”
- Very useful angles the Apple Magic Keyboard does not do. For example, angles forward such that the iPad can actually rest anywhere on the keyboard, trackpad or in front of the trackpad for times when you are focused on watching media, drawing/using the Pencil and don’t want the keyboard/trackpad in the way. It’s also a nice way to use the iPad when you just want to use it as an iPad- touch first but it’s conveniently held up for you.
Overall, very well built and costs far less than Apple’s Magic Keyboard.
The main negatives:
- Weight (with 13" iPad it weighs slightly MORE than a 14" 2015 MBP) the only
- Bottom hinge should offer more resistance. By that I mean that if angled too far back or too far forward it will shift backward or forward.
- Trackpad lacking palm detection
All that said, assuming it holds up over time, yeah, I’d buy it again.
