I’m thinking of upgrading my spaghetti wiring with a Cal Digit Dock. I’m curious, the Apple site says this dock is available only at Apple. How does this differ from the TS4 dock I can get on Amazon (where it currently costs $50 more? I’m not seeing any difernces in the specs.
According to “CalDigitDalton” on Reddit:
“The Thunderbolt 4 Pro Dock is developed for and sold exclusively through Apple. It comes in a silver color palette made to match the entire lineup of silver macOS computers. Being sold through Apple, it adheres to their 14 day return policies.
The Pro Dock may seem functionally similar to the TS4, sharing the same available ports, but they are separate models with unique firmware and SKUs. The TS4 will continue to be sold through the CalDigit online shop and other major retail channels in its unique Space Grey color, whilst the Pro Dock is available in Apple stores only.”
Maybe there is a difference or it’s just a way for Apple to draw customers away from Amazon. Who knows?

Thanks, I guess I should have searched before asking the question.
Glad to help. I was a self trained I.T. manager and have been using search engines to solve problems since the early 90s.
Now we have AI. It makes it so shockingly easy.
I was CIO of a large healthcare organization years ago, pre-web. In my experience this group is often better than Google. My MBP is Space Gray, so I was thinking to wait for the next Amazon sale.
