Can I connect my 2023 MBP to a A1407 thunderbolt monitor?

I have a friend sell 2 and I was wondering if this was possible or do I need to buy a huge dongle?

Not directly but it needs the Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 (MDP) adapter. $49. Iā€™m using one on my M2 Mac Mini.
