Can't access podcasts on my Apple Watch

For the last 12 months I’ve been syncing podcasts to the Podcast app on Watch OS to listen to when I go for a run.

I opened the Podcast app on my Watch today and got this message:

Sign into iTunes on your iPhone to listen to Podcasts.

iTunes isn’t even an app for iOS anymore! Anyone else getting this error?

There is a Podcasts app for the iPhone. I think it is installed by default as part of iOS (I have it installed on my phone but I use a different app to manage my podcasts). If the Podcasts app is installed on your phone then you could try to open that and see if it asks you to sign in. If it does not, opening the app on the phone might allow the app on the watch to sign back in.

Thanks - I usually select the podcasts on the Podcast app and they sync across but this isn’t working.
