I know some folks on here are doing wild and whacky things with LLMs. But if like me, you just want to work through some Apps script implementation, or, say, sound out methodology for Shortcuts, ponying up for the paid tiers can feel like overkill. I’d struggle to justify £18 or £20 a month.
If you’ve found ChatGPT’s free tier becoming completely unusable, try giving Claude a spin. On ChatGPT, I find conversations grind to a halt pretty quickly – even more so if I make the fatal mistake of uploading a screen grab. That’s it. Over.
I had toyed with the idea of the £7 ChatGPT Go, but fortunately, I’ve found Claude’s free tier to be so much more generous and accommodating. I’ve been able to upload multiple screen grabs over the course of a chat with no issues whatsoever. I’ve also not had Claude park a conversation as has been the case on ChatGPT.
So, as I say, if your needs are pretty limited, like me, you may be pleasantly surprised by Claude. I am of course aware that now I’ve posted this, I’ll likely be throttled by Anthropic.
PS - I know. Electron, but I’ll take that hit.
