Clean the keyboard

Is there any other way to clean a MBA keyboard aside from compressed air_

try the Trixes Keyboad cleaner. It is great to get rid of bread crumps, dust and dirts, etc

Before cleaning, I suggest the Keyboard Clean Tool, a nice (free) utility that locks the keyboard so you can clean. You click the on-screen button with the mouse to unlock the keyboard when finished.

WONDERFUL. Thanks ever so much

I use a little 409 or Fantastik on a microfiber cloth. Wipes away hand lotion buildup, dust dirt, etc.

Do you turn the computer off_

I try. The problem with Macs lately is that all it takes is to bump a key and it turns right back on!

guess you can always remove the power to avoid accidental starting of the Mac

On a MacBook Air with a battery?

Unplug, transcode some videos with FFMPEG to run the battery completely down to where it won’t turn on no matter what you do, THEN clean the keyboard.

I’ve heard that’s not a good idea.

I have an iMac with the extended Bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth Magic Trackpad. I switch off the keyboard and trackpad when I clean them, but I do not turn off the iMac itself.
