Cleaning up email

Hello,

I am starting a project which will take a LONG time but I think will be worth it.

I want to import email folders into Devon Think. Some are family related and some are research related. Almost all have messages that are long threads.

Some I will export to .mbox files and store on an external drive. It’s unlikely that I’ll need them.

I asked Claude to write an Apple Script to just keep the culminating email and delete the others. It worked well on one that was the top of the hierarchy “Family” but not on a sub-folder (cousins):

Mail got an error: Can’t get mailbox “cousins” of account id “739F7501-16DF-47FC-88F2-B9F78F44F6F7”.

I will ask Claude about this but is there an easier way to handle?

I have THOUSANDS of emails and am not going to manually ‘prune’ them.

Gail

P.s. (Is this forum going to continue with David’s migration to Circle?)

Well, I let Claude know the problem and they revised the script and it works just great!!

Yes, it is! David @macsparky appointed two new moderators (me, and @cornchip) to help with the forum while he and Stepen Robles @beardfm are crazy busy.
