Conditional display of Sonoma widgets

I’m late to the game, having bought a Silicon based macbookpro (M3) only a few weeks ago. I’m playing with the widgets on the desktop and I have successfully built a dashboard layout for myself on my big 32" monitor. Works great. However, when I disconnect the monitor, all the widgets bundle up and overlap on my laptop screen.

I read that not much can be done with the widgets back in 2023, but how about now? Is it possible to show/hide widgets based on number of displays? Or based on focus mode?

What are the resolutions of your Monitor and laptop Screen?

If the Monitor has a higher resolution, then when you disconnect it, the OS has to try to fit all of the Widgets onto a smaller area, it doesn’t really have much choice then to overlap them.

What happens when you then reconnect the Laptop to the Monitor, does all go back properly (as you had them setup) on the Monitor?
