Connect Mac to external (physical) analog / digital IO

just wondering what components / apps I need to use to connect my M1 Mac Mini to receive external analog / digital input and control digital outputs via relay boards.

The reason I want to do this is to connect some Arduino boards to my Mac running homebridge but I do not want to use Raspberry PI (for Homebridge)

Perhaps I should clarify, the ultimate goal is to get Arduino to talk to HomeKit. If this can be done without going through Mac, that is even better
