Contacts and Airmail for Mac

So, am wondering how contacts work in Airmail app for Mac. Do the contacts sync with Mac native contacts? Is there a way to add new contacts into native Mac contacts using Airmail? If I had contacts into the native Contacts Mac app will the show up automatically in Airmail?

Any input would be helpful. Right now I’m using Spark mail app on Mac and it allows access to Mac native contacts from within the Spark mail app.

Turn this on under Advanced in Airmail preferences.
