Cosmos - Pinterest for Creatives

Hope it doesn’t become ad riddled like Pinterest when they struggle to find a solid monetization method

I cannot get it to open.

I spent 10 seconds on their webpage, which has waitlist button for those who haven’t seen it, and decided it wasn’t for me!

You know how the Apple Store and other pages have taken over scrolling so that as you scroll down, at certain points the page stays still and information kind of scrolls into view?
Their page was doing this but on steroids and the effects I was “scrolling” didn’t seem at all natural to the action I was doing on my Mac.
In other words, for me, they sacrificed user experience for fancy effects.

Others will probably love it though, there’s clearly been thought put into it.

Yeah, it just sits there with a faint “0%” holding steady on the screen. Looking at their Twitter, none of their marketing decisions are appealing to me. Kind of a frustrating experience for an attempt to raise interest in a new product …

I thought I was the only one annoyed by excessive parallax scrolling. It’s become a bit too trendy.

Outside of AI image tagging it will be interesting to see what this service offers over something like Are.na It certainly “feels” like it will be well executed.

The messaging reminds me of MyMind, which is really well done and has some users here. Though, I’m not clear on whether Cosmos will have social features (MyMind doesn’t.)
