I’ve been using Craft for a number of years. It replaced Obsidian for me and generally I have been quite happy. I’ve now returned to work and require some heavy lifting and Craft is beginning to annoy me.
Firstly, suport is via Slack or Reddit—er, no. I don’t want yet another app.
Secondly, I tend to paste lists into Craft to work on from spreadsheets or other places. Every time it pastes the whole list as one node. Why?! You then have to go through and insert a line break after each item to separate out the list into separate nodes.
Thirdly, If you use a document and use the “Open” feature where each node becomes it’s own page, those pages show up nowhere. You can find them with search or navigate if you know exactly where they are, but they do not exist as other pages do or show in the folder list. Worse still should you want to share one of those sub-pages, you have to share the whole document. This means any shared page needs to be created as a separate page and linked rather than use the “open” feature.
Fourthly, the collection feature is absolutely useless. I’ve tried 3 times to use it and it’s hopeless. The first column truncates text. You cannot wrap the text. So if you print, which I do, the information is truncated. The collections also become a nightmare to navigate as they are an embedded window. Everytime I’ve tried to use this feature, I scrapped it after short use.
So what is one to do? Looks like I’ll be dusting off Omnioutliner.
