Creating a shared environment for working in Claude Cowork, including when I'm working with my PKM

I’ve been trying for a while to figure a way to configure Claude code for use in my PKM Obsidian Vault and also in my business.

I’m working in Obsidian and with PKM. I generally use the Obsidian terminal to run Claude code and create log entries from daily briefings, etc., but then in our business I’m using Dropbox to act as an assistant in sales and marketing, etc., within the business. I also want to share the work we do in the Cowork with my daughter Lisa.

I have been trying for the last three or four days to come up with a configuration and structure that would allow us to keep all the skills in Dropbox rather than some in Dropbox and others in my PKM, which is outside of Dropbox. I also wanted to make sure that we did reliable memory so we didn’t have to keep repeating the same instructions to Claude each time. I was trying to figure out what I put into global instructions, what I put into cloud.md, etc., so we’d have a consistent output and process.

I decided this afternoon to give the problem to Claude. Within a couple of hours, it came up with the perfect solution (at least I hope it is the perfect solution).

Summary outcome

  • Two short global instruction files or content: one to be used on each of the two computers, mine and Lisa’s.

  • Four Claude.md files - - One in my Cowork root folder

  • One in my Cowork personal folder
  • One in my PKM vault
  • The final: an internal Claude.md file for use with the terminal (PKM)

I also got Claude to produce a report if anyone is interested in seeing the steps needed. I’d be happy to discuss it or to explain to anyone by email if anyone wants further information. Link to Report

I think you should check your link. I didn’t see a report, but there are files that are 7 days old…
