Deep integration between Apple Reminders and Omnifocus

Like many people around here, I use Omnifocus 4 for most of my To Dos, however, I also use Apple Reminders everyday with a few lists shared with my SO.

It seems that OF can “capture” reminders but only from a single list and after the import it deletes it from Reminders, however, this made me think that somehow there might be another possibility to integrate the two.

Would it be possible to create a few projects, with the same names as the lists in Reminders, and every time a new Reminder is added in any of those list an automation/shortcut would copy most of it and create a new todo in Omnifocus? Or maybe, something easier, create a new Inbox todo based in any new reminder in those lists? After that I would just need to process the inbox and move them to their projects.

I don’t think that OmniFocus has the ability to run a script or shortcut based on something being added.

You may be able to use shortcuts to capture an action and add it to both, but there’s no way to keep the two actions in sync.

Full 2 way sync like GoodTask would be perfect but that is really impossible.

I’d be happy to just find a way to copy new tasks added in Reminders automatically :smiling_face_with_tear:

Good task used the Apple Reminders database as the backend. Good task is basically an alternative UI to Apple Reminders. It is similar to how fantastical and BusyCal are front ends to the Apple Calendar database.

So it’s not really 2 way syncing. Good task is basically Apple Calendar on steroids.

I use OmniFocus syncing with a specific Reminders list while maintaining a separate list in Reminders with my wife. I got used to processing tasks in reminders and in OmniFocus.
