Default Desktop Icon Size

In the course of trying a fix for external hard drives that no longer mounted on startup, my default desktop icon size got changed. Can someone let me know what the default icon size, spacing and font size for an iMac is supposed to be? Thanks.

I believe the default (Command+J in the Finder) is initially set to 64x64.

But it can be whatever you want. I use 48x48 with text size 13.

EDIT: One way to make sure is to see what a new user setup is - create a new admin user account, log into it, and then click on the Desktop and use CMD+J :smiley:

Thanks. I found that. I was more interested in the spacing, but I found that, too.
