I’m looking for a new monitor to go along with my MacBook Air M2. I need the simplest setup possible (one cable, I mean). I will use for teleconferences and writing.
I’m inclined to buy the Dell Pro 24 Plus USB-C Hub Monitor - P2425HE (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-pro-24-plus-usb-c-hub-monitor-p2425he/apd/210-bmkk/monitors-monitor-accessories).
Do you guys have already used it?
I’ve used one at work, but not with a Mac, with a Dell. We have about half a dozen on hot desks.
They’re pretty good and you can also hook up an additional monitor using Displayport.
How much would it cost you to buy a comparable Thunderbolt hub instead and a 24" monitor? That would give you more flexibility for the future.

Thank you for your response.
I should definitely check out for a thunderbolt option.
My main goal is to have only one cable attached to my MacBook, so it doesn’t clutter my desk.
I’d steer clear of 1080p 24”. That’s not particularly crisp these days

+1 (as long as your budget does allow it)
Consider choosing the options for a different resolution. We are using the displays in the WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200) hooked up to Dell laptops (via docking station) in the office, three of them on every desk. They are solid displays. In combination with a Mac, I would think about choosing the QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. Two of those displays make a nice experience.
If you only want to have one external display in the long run, I would encourage you to choose a 27-inch display. The 27-inch 4K option is not much more expensive than the 24-inch QHD one.
You can achieve this goal with a docking station/hub, too. Depending on use cases in the future (more displays, external hardware), you may have more options with a hub. If you choose a DELL display, then make sure to get a model with 90W power delivery.

Thank you very much for you suggestions.
I ended up buying the monitor because It was in a very good offer here in Brazil (tech here is really expensive).
My desk is a little bit narrow, so I think the 27 inches would be too close to my eyes, unfortunately.
The goal is to work from home more often in the next years, then I’ll have a proper and neat table!

I have a Dell S2722Z at work with a MBP M1 Max. Not sure if the features match exactly apart from screen size, but it has built-in camera, speakers and mic and it connects to my Mac through the USB-C, even charging it.
So take this as an anecdotical data point to showcase that in terms of connectivity through USB-C, Dell monitors have no issues with a Mac. At least I feel I don’t have a shitty company issued display at work.

Thank you! That’s exactly what I need: less cables on my desk.
