My subscription renewal for Due happened today. (£3.99 a year)
I don’t think that there’s a software I get more value out of (although OmniFocus comes pretty close) than Due. Reminding me to do the things I have to do, repeatedly.

Agreed - I always intend to move daily or weekly tasks I have in Things with a notification reminder, out of Things and into Due. But I never get around to it. I am coming to see that “reminders/notifications” (Due) is not necessarily the same thing as a to-do list/task manager (for me, Things).
Subscription? I use it regularly, but I’m pretty sure I don’t have a subscription. Is this a new thing?
From 4 years ago:
The Upgrade Pass is an optional subscription that unlocks features permanently, even after the subscription lapses.
Curious what Due does for you that a task manager doesn’t, since you also use OmnFocus and @wbarnes4393 uses Things. They have reminders, do they not? Are you duplicating tasks in OmniFocus and Due?
For me due is the nag for the things I don’t want to forget but that are easily missed during the day. Take med, take out the trash, make a can’t miss appointment when I won’t be at my calendar, and so on. It’s very handy.
Yep - I use it just like @Dfuhrman describes. Great for repeat “nags” (you can even have it repeat once per minute), for things you really really want to get to right then and check off your list. @Crystalliere I do not have any overlap. What’s in Due is not in Things or vice versa.
There are 2 things
I use Due for tasks that need to come to me, things I have to do. Taking meds, putting the bins out to be emptied, feeding the dog, watering plants, ordering medications, Drop dead things which will affect me if I don’t do them.
OmniFocus is for things I intentionally want to do i.e. I sit down and look at OF before deciding what to do.
I don’t have notifications switched on for OF, so Due tasks come to me, I go to OF to work. It’s a conscious decision and division.
Due reminds me until I do something.
I’m not arguing or disagreeing with anyone–but I don’t have a need for Due. I use a reminder, or for things like taking out the trash, a recurring reminder. It turns red and remains in Today until I do it. That is “nag enough” for me as I hate “seeing red.”
The above was due several days ago-- I guess I best get it done!
For medications, I use the health app.
I use Due solely for tasks that, if not completed, may end in divorce from my wife because it nags me repeatedly and I need this. I use OmniFocus for everything else because that has the concept of Defer Dates and pushing stuff out. Marriage doesn’t. (in my experience anyway… )
Timely response! Today, my wife and I are celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary. Her patience and grace have long compensated for many of my shortcomings—including my failure to use Due.
Congratulations! We’re going into our 20th and whilst my earlier reply was kind of pithy, there’s a large element of truth in it in that anything I think will come back on me domestically if not done, goes into Due and it’s a balance that’s worked well for years for me now.
Congrats @Bmosbacker.
In the UK we might say that you could have served two life sentences with less pain
Thanks, I think. Truthfully, God has blessed with me a wonderful wife. I cannot imagine going through life without her.
Forgive the poor 1980s picture.
You two were dressed similarly to my parents and your haircut is similar to my dad’s. They’re celebrating their 45th this year! I actually like the aesthetic of that era of photos.
I am almost tempted to support them just for the URL Scheme header in the menu on their webpage…
