During the Holiday Season I turn away from work related and look toward Mac gaming. What ya playing?

I have not tried Baldurs Gate 3 as I don’t want to make that big of a time commitment but I am still playing Planet Zoo (Crossover) and Red Alert 2: Yuris Revenge (Parallels). On your Mac, what are your “goto” games at the end of 2024?

In theory I’m going to somehow find time to relax and finally try
Rimworld
Stellaris
Disco Elysium.

In reality I might get to one of them, try it for awhile, and either be too busy or lose interest. If history repeats itself.

Not really Mac gaming but since switching to an M series Mac I started using GeforeNow for playing my beloved „Anno 1800“.

Actually I like GeforceNow as I don’t have to tinker with Windows/Parallels or install games locally on my Mac. As I can book a month and play and after that I cancel my sub which really helps with not plying so often .

Not on my Mac, but I just bought a ROG Ally X handheld gaming PC this weekend to try out. I am playing Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077, very impressive performance so far despite Windows jankiness. I just saw that Cyberpunk is getting a Mac port so I may install it on my Macbook Air and see how it plays.

On my Switch, I am slowly making my way through The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I’m a huge Zelda fan and the game is very fun, but it’s not quite clicking with me.

I am playing Borderlands 2 on my M1 Pro laptop. I will look for another game after I finish this one.

I have played Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. I wish they had something similar for the Mac or iPad.

I have not been able to break away from Stellaris for eight years (and a hell of a lot of paid DLC’s) - I was going to give Terra Invicta a spin this christmas but I’m fooling myself. It will be eight hours a day of Stellaris…

Natively, I’m playing World of Warcraft - which always has a funny holiday season - Stray (which is really cute) and Baldur’s Gate 3. I also have No Man’s Sky but I’ve barely begun it. I will be trying to play it more over the holidays.

I also have Gamepass and I’m looking forward to the new Indiana Jones - which I’ll be playing on my Mac via Geforce Now (GFN). I’m also enjoying Diablo IV, Cyberpunk, Starfield and Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on GFN. Too many great games to choose from!!

Maybe check out the Oceanhorn games? They’re Apple-first games and the second one was inspired by BOTW. Other than that, if you enjoyed the combat of those games, you may enjoy Lies of P which has an Apple Silicon port. It’s part of a genre called Souls-Like (inspired by Dark Souls) which shares influences with Zelda in some ways although much more difficult.

Transport Fever 2. They continue to add improvements to the world-building capabilities of the game and the scenery is more and more realistic. Add to it the logistical challenges of keeping freight and passengers moving, it it is a great escape game.

I really want to play No Man’s Sky, on a Mac. I know I need an Apple Silicon Mac, but do you need/use a controller?

No, I’ve been playing with a mouse and keyboard. It’s worth it, I think it’s the best performing game on MacOS and I like the game dynamics and physics a lot.

Getting a new mac soon does anyone know if Delta works for Macs? I’ve been doing a lot of emulation lately. Pokemon Heart Gold has been my go to.

Check out OpenEMU, it’s a great Mac app that’s a nice front end for emulators. Not sure how to sync saves but I’m sure it’s possible.

Yes 𝚫elta works great on apple silicon macs.
