Although the Apple reminders app has many good features, editing in the Reminders app in IOS is very cumbersome. First you have to select the reminder - then you have to click the “i” then go thru the various editing parameters and sub menus from there. I’m just pointing out I am not a fan of this cumbersome interface.
I am curious if any of the other popular task management iOS apps make this editing process any easier?
The main reason I’m using Todoist is its NLP data entry and edit abilities which vastly outshine anything else I’ve tried in ease and simplicity. I’m not a huge fan of their “we know what’s best for users” mindset and don’t care for some of their recent development focus such as kanban boards but I keep coming back every time I try something different (such as Apple reminders) and get frustrated how muck clicking data entry requires.
There is a good app that lets you create tasks using natural language, InstaRemind. However, it really only helps at the start of the process, not to edit a task once it has created. I do agree with you that Apple need to up their game in terms of UI on the Reminders app.
Thanks for the info. For me, the easiest thing is to just use Siri to add basic reminders like: remind me next Tuesday at 7 o’clock to finish my work project. No typing needed. The cumbersome part is editing afterward.
I just took a quick trip into the future in my spaceship Ha Ha! . Guess what Apple is doing in 2050?
Now you can select a reminder and use Siri to say: “move this date to next Tuesday” and “bump this time up one hour” and “make it high priority” - and it will update the reminder. Nice. Thanks Siri.
