I do not know if MPU is the appropriate place to ask, but here goes anyway.
I have an Elgato Key Light that I usually control with my Stream Deck, but sometimes with the Control Centre.
Almost all the time the Key Light works perfectly. However, from time to time I try to switch it in for a teleconference and find it has disconnected. This is uncommon, but nevertheless inconvenient.
I have seen this reported by others in product reviews. Elgato support has not been able to pinpoint any possible causes as most of the time it works faultlessly.
I just wondered if any MPU contributors have had this problem and found a solution?
I’ve only had this problem a few times, but quitting and restarting the Control Center app has brought it back.
Not a permanent fix, but that’s my solution.
Thank you. I will try quitting Control Centre next time. I have fixed it by unplugging the Key Light for, say, 10 secs, but that does not always work. A computer restart fixes it every time.
I believe Control Center on iOS always works perfect for me when macOS has glitches like this. Might be handy if you need something quick during conference.
I agree with @mina — sometimes I just quickly grab my phone to get the light turned on. However, that’s not so easy if I’m using my iPhone as a camera!
I see this too, and usually restarting the Control Center app will bring it back to life.
