I am currently using the legacy version of Outlook for Mac. Unfortunately, Apple Mail does not play nicely with Office 365.
I have been trying out Em Client. Has anyone had any experience with this software either good or bad?

I’ve used it on Windows for a while and it wasn’t bad - was a good Outlook alternative, as it does all in one (calendar, contacts etc). I even purchased a license at one point, as I wanted more than two accounts, which I believe at the time needed a license for.
It did the job.
One downside from memory was that it saved the emails in it’s own database format, rather than something like an MBOX or EML’s that Thunderbird and Mail use respectively so making it difficult to move to another client if the emails aren’t stored on an IMAP server. However, it did have an automatic backup tool built in that would run as often as specified.
I find that Apple Mail works fine with Office 365. What problems are you seeing?
I toggle between Apple Mail and Outlook several times daily. I prefer Apple Mail for reading and writing email, but I use Outlook to process meeting invitations.
I would prefer to use Apple email but I have found that 1) it does not synchronize with the 365 server - for read messages remain marked as unread, 2) regular error messages that individual messages cannot be moved, 3) there is a constant “moving messages” message that never complete and 4) while some people have had good experiences like you, many others are regularly running into problems see: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252466872?sortBy=rank – https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254890802?sortBy=rank – and https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254266149?sortBy=rank
If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate receiving them
I’ll give it some thought.
I did nothing special to set up O365 with Apple Mail. I just connected the account and it worked.
I’m sorry I can’t be more help.
I paid for a Pro license back in March - use the desktop client and iOS app. Generally works well, but I only use it via IMAP with my Apple domain email account.
I know this is an old thread, but this seems like the best place to report:
Trying out eM Client 10.1 and its associated iOS app. One thing that I have seen is that eM Client 10.1 now has a share sheet icon and you can drag an email to the file system to save it. As far as I know, the database saves emails in EML format and the database backup saves your license as well.
10.2 is supposedly getting many Postbox inspired updates. The synchronization errors I reported a few years ago seem to be mostly gone now.
The iOS app was trash for a very long time, because it would not download emails until you opened the app up. It would take a long time to download. It’s much faster to download emails now. I cannot report on push notifications because Fastmail OAuth2 won’t allow them.
Supposedly the next iteration of the iOS app is going to be designed using a different framework and it’s going to be much better.
Thanks for posting your update. I switched from Postbox to Thunderbird but I’ve been thinking recently about checking out eM Client.
Sorry to resurrect an older post, but just thought I would echo your experiences with Apple Mail and Office 365. I, too, preferred to use Apple Mail. But I have also experienced what you describe. In addition, it seems to fairly regularly need you to re-enter your Office 365 credentials – it loses them somehow? In addition, the show-stopper for me was last week when email I sent from Apple Mail on my Mac absolutely showed as sent ---- but… in fact it never sent. Just sat there and failed silently without giving me any heads up that the send had failed. Back to Outlook for my Office 365 account. Apple fans decry it as “ugly” or “bloated” and it does omit some Apple-centric features, but it has this going for it — bulletproof connection and functionality with my employer’s Office 365 servers and it actually, you know, SENDS MAIL!
I’m hoping with the new app they decide to implement a watchOS app too as that’s what’s keeping me to Apple mail.
