It is with heavy heart that I mourn the loss of my trusted companion, MacUpdater. Since I met this utility in 2019 with version 1.0, my software update workflow was a jumbled mess. Some apps had automatic updates, some would email me, some would stop working, and some I had stumble across news of a an update before I was aware of a newer version to install.
MacUpdater replaced that chaos with a structured , scheduled process that made updating or choosing to not update and automated process under my complete control. No Ninja-updates, no automatic updates to version I have purchase ( looking at you, KM), no popups coercing me to update( Parallels ). Instead , I just checked available updates and decided which updates I wanted to install.
May you rest in peace, my friend. You deserve a peaceful place in the Internet Archive or wherever utilities go after their EOL date.
