I would like to upload files to iCloud via the browser, but then I don’t want that folder to sync with any of my devices. All results I see from Google mention excluding a folder from syncing TO iCloud, not FROM.
Can I achieve this?
For context: I have a lot of files taking a lot of space and I want to move them both to an external disk and remotely using iCloud as an extra layer of security in case something happens to my external disk.
No. Sadly that’s due to lack of granular control which iCloud Drive simply does not provide – but this is easily doable with Dropbox, OneDrive or Google Drive where one can use selective sync and exclude some folders from syncing to any of the machines (granted, you’d need to modify settings on each of the clients, but you’d not see the folders that are not being synced anywhere where you don’t want them).
