Fastmail … is brilliant ,.. except the IPad & iPhone app suddenly stops working on mobile data

I’m trialing Fastmail and so far I love it compared to using Gsuite. I’m sure there will be compromises, but I have 5 work domains and an assistant, and so far it seems so much easier to work with than gusuite.

But I have a problem. And I can’t solve it!

The iPhone app sometimes stops working when it’s on mobile data, for a few hours.
Same on the iPad.

Both work well on wifi.
Both work sometimes on 5G, but then the app - and also the website, when using safari - suddenly stop work.

I can fix it by switching back to wifi, or switching to my personal hotspot.

The mobile data is on the same provider, and it’s around 300 Mbps.

I’m flummoxed. I asked Fastmail for help, and when I did that it suddenly started working of course. But … today … it did the same again.

Any suggestions?

Is anyone else using Fastmail and experienced similar?

Probably a long shot, but delete the app, reboot, and reinstall it?

No idea otherwise, extremely strange.

Sometimes the app on iOS shows the spinner on bootup. I force quit at that point, and then it’s fine.

Reach out to Fastmail Support. They are very responsive in my experience.

I reasonably often find it doesn’t load content when I open it having not used it for hours. I force quit it and relaunch and it always snaps to life.

I chatted with Fastmail support and they think it might be something to do with my mobile company’s settings. hmmm. Level 3 support are on it!
