Hi, I’m trying to figure out where a sound is coming from on my Mac. There is a sound going off every few minutes and I think there it is probably notification sound off but I don’t see any notifications in my notification center.
Is there any easy way to figure out which app is causing this sound? (other than closing each app one at a time and manually troubleshooting)

Instead of closing apps one at a time, I suggest disabling all login items and start up apps one at a time. It may not be a notification that’s causing the beep, and notifications do not always appear in the Notification Center. Other possibilities are apps that groan when they do something. I’ve seen apps open windows asking for permissions, the window immediately falls behind other windows, and the app squeaks periodically waiting for your attention.
