Fillable pdf how to make one

I’m thinking of making a fillable PDF form for work. This would be something I would use for myself with questions on it that need to be answered for my job reports.

Is this possible? Anyone else use something like this?

And how do I make this? Would I use the preview app on iOS?

I can make a template but I think this might be better.

Apart from the original question, I’d mention that if the goal is to have a recurring record or perhaps a list of past answers, then you might want to consider something as simple as a table in Numbers. Works across mobile and desktop Apple platforms.

I don’t need a list of past answers. Just need a form filled out with certain things. But what you said is also a possibility also.

I used to use PDF Pen Pro to add checkboxes and fill in fields. They are now Nitro PDF which is available in Setapp if you have it. Not sure if the Setapp version has the capability though since I have not needed to make an editable PDF since Nitro took over.

It seems like the new preview on iPadOS can do this. I have not installed on my Mac yet.

The Preview app CAN indeed create fillable forms on iPadOS. They’ve done a pretty good job, so before looking at 3rd party app, may be worth some testing here to see if it meets your needs.

I have no problem using preview. I will try to find a video about how to use it.

FYI - Preview works great for Mac users, but I’ve hit a lot of issues when I share forms made in Preview with Windows users. If it’s only for you to use Preview is the best choice, otherwise I’d use Acrobat if Windows users need to fill out the form (which doesn’t seem to the the case here).

I create fillable PDFs for my business with Sejda. It’s not as convenient as Adobe–it won’t automatically create fields or align them, for example–but it’s free and it works well.
