Final Cut Pro X and Clean My Mac

Two part question.

FCPX has stopped loading on my iMac - details on the Apple discussion threads
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251387719?login=true&page=1

Response I’ve gotten there is “CleanMyMac is the problem - clean install is the only answer” - even though FCPX starts in guest mode, and I haven’t run CMM recently.

Any suggestions for my problem, and what are community thoughts here on Clean My Mac? I’ve used it for years without problems.

Regards
Brian

If it starts in a guest account, the issue is probably in your user folder. You can find it’s preference files in ~/Library, move them to your Desktop and see if it starts. If it does, you can test each file until you find the culprit.

May also be a cache, library or app support folder, all in your user folder.

Tried all of those without success - used this to find all files to remove

Interesting.

What ever was broken has been fixed by the 10.15.5 update.

Good. Didn’t want to do a clean install just yet.
