My wife’s old headset died, so we got her the new AirPods Pro 2. She’s happy with them, but there is one weird thing. You know, these needs charging now and then, so we chuck the case on a chi-puck. It gives me a single “thanks, successful placement, charging” sound and the light pulsates red for a while. All good and normal.
However - once it reaches 100%, it starts to “bing” like an egg-timer. “I’m done, I’m done - get me the hell off of this thing” is what I’m hearing (from bed after being sound asleep for 40 minutes).
I have looked for a setting to turn this off, but have not been successful. Any tips for silencing that case and improving my sleep would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
I have the Airpods Pro 2
If you go into Bluetooth settings for the Airpods pro, you can turn off “Enable Case Charging Sounds” Unfortunately it’s all on or all off

Ah, found it! Thanks a lot.
We’ve been through "Notifications, “Sound and Haptics” and “General” with no luck
You can understand the logic in putting them under Bluetooth, but it still feels wrong.
I’m used to Sennheiser and Jabra products and they come with an app for these controls. Most other products only have the “Connect” and “Forget” options there, so probably why I didn’t think to look.

I have these as well, and they don’t sound like that when they are finished. I have all sounds on.
One chime when I put them on the charge bed and maybe (I’m not sure because I’m usually at sleep when that happens) one chime when they are finished.
I would be going crazy if they started to repeat the sound until you remove them, it actually sounds like something is wrong.
Oh, that sounds like the correct behaviour. One sound at finish is not a problem. You may very well be right that the repeating sound is maybe not “as designed”.
Thanks!
@airwhale and @carlsson I’m wondering if one or both of you have the sleep focus mode enabled while they’re charging. That may make a difference.
