Footnotes in Pages on iPad?

Earlier tonight I started writing a document in Pages on my Mac. Then later I switched to writing in on my brand new iPad Pro M4.

However, the footnotes I inserted in the Pages document on the Mac are gone on the iPad and I can’t figure out how to add new footnotes in Pages on the iPad.

I looked around on the web for answer but was only more confused. Anyone has a fast solution for this?

I use extensive footnotes in much of my writing. My footnotes always sync across my devices.

On the iPad, here is how you add footnotes (I’m assuming you are using a keyboard).
