Free Article on doing an Annual Review

I received this free article from reMarkable on completing an annual review. Some great quotes and some great thoughts. I post it here in case anyone else finds it helpful. This is a probably a good time to do this.

This was a good read, thanks for sharing. I read through the article and highlighted things that I considered important for my purposes. I then had Gemini extract all of my highlights and create an APA reference. I then formatted this information into both Rich text and a PDF. I’d be happy to share it for anyone who is interested, but keep in mind that what I highlighted is likely to be different than what you may highlight.

This article almost tempts me to buy a Remarkable. :slightly_smiling_face: However, I can accomplish the same thing with my iPad because I have nearly all notifications turned off, and I do not find myself easily distracted.

What’s that?

(Never saw this before)

The American Psychological Association. The APA Style is a widely used citation format for academic writing, especially in social sciences. :slightly_smiling_face:

I must be missing something. The link just goes to an ad page to sign up for their mailing list. No article there unless you agree to being spammed by emails.

It does require an email. I simply use a masked email from icloud or hidden email from fastmail.

Apologies for not having made that clearer.

That explains it.

I don’t use either icloud or fastmail and am loath to give any of my email addresses just to read one article.

Given your expertise, you probably already have done this, but you could create a “junk” email Gmail address for situations like this. I have one for just such situations (but I also use Hide my Email in iCloud). As a result, I seldom ever get spam in my real email addresses.

I have in the past but maintaining a junk email account has had its own problems.

This particular page does not use your email address to send you a link. You can simply use a fantasy email address and you will be put through to the pdf.

For others , a service like temp-mail might be helpful as you don’t have to maintain an account.

Unfortunately, all companies want to sell us a subscription. It’s a very sad trend, and they also want to cash in monthly or annually with “reMarkable Connect.”

They do. However, services like Connect that syncs all your notes require ongoing costs of server maintenance, app development and maintenance over all platforms. How can they provide this service at no cost? ÂŁ29.90 per year seems pretty good to me for what I get.

This is a really well done PDF. I like Shane a lot.
