Giving Siri Watch Face Another Try

That’s a good call. They’re mostly minors, but it’d be interesting to see them start to roll off from the count, especially if it takes queues from who’s living at home (FASFA) and on insurance (Delta.)

I’ve been running the watch face for a week now, and I like it overall. I had to tweak the widgets a bit. I found that pinning a widget makes it to where it almost always shows on your watch face. So I stopped pinning and have been letting it surface them as it decided throughout the day. It’s worked fairly well. I was at an event this past weekend and pinned the calendar widget that day though, and it was nice to have that show up most of the day but then swap out for time sensitive things like music playing, or a timer running.

All in all, I like it.

That’s a really good shout.

My AW Ultra 4 arrived today and I’ve been playing with the Siri Modular face. It never occurred to me that the 3 complication card was on the face because it was pinned to the top of the stack

Unpinning it allows it to swap out, but I still wish I could pin something to the top of the stack without it becoming a permanent fixture on the watch face.

I’m a big fan for stability in UX, I don’t like menus that rearrange themselves based on use. I go on “muscle
Memory a lot.

So I like that 3 complication card at the top of my stack.

So far, so good. I also had to unpin a widget. Now, the watch face brings up the next event or task. When nothing is immediately on the horizon, it shows me the forecast.

Later it shows this…

I’m impressed.

I don’t have any widgets pinned, but it seems to only want to show Fantastical and Recent Workouts, even though I have Carrot Weather and Reminders set as widgets also

Agreed. I think that can be improved greatly. To me the watch face shouldn’t prioritize the pinned widgets since it’s an easy swipe up (rotation on the crown) to get to them. It feels like there should be three categories of widgets now:

  1. Unpinned: Filters in the stack based on usage / priority
  2. Pinned: Shows at the top of the stack when you rotate the crown
  3. Priority: Shows in the watch face above everything else if nothing else is taking priority.

I’m disappointed you can’t choose the SiriAI middle panel as a complication for other watches with similar spaces e.g. the Modular face on the Ultra.
