Gmail iPad/iOS in App Browser

I would like to disable the gmail in app browser. Some websites (hello Medium) now insist they send you a magic link login. Since these links are one time only the gmail browser gets logged in, but no the real safari browser. I know I could sign into gmail web on my iPad, but I want to kill the google in app browser.

I can’t find an option to disable this. When I used android (shock), the option existed. Am I out of luck on iPadOS/iOS?

Should still be there. Tap the menu icon in the top left, scroll to “Settings” at the bottom, then “Default Apps” at the very bottom.

Thanks. I have Safari selected in there. Still Gmail decides it gets to open links inside a private copy of safari, that doesn’t share cookies with the real version.

Oh gees Google. Ok, so if you select “Default browser app” that will open in iOS Safari and not an in-app browser. At least that’s what I’m seeing on my end.

Doh - I knew this once and then something changed. Somehow Safari got set as the Default app.

@kennonb A thousand thank you’s.
