Wondering if anyone has info on the gmail MCP talked about in Workshop #2? The author mentioned that it would end up on GitHub, but I am unable to find it so far. I am using the Google one, but finding some limitations. Looking for an alternative with more capabilities and increased security.
Thanks
Found the MCP on GitHub.
Could you please share the link?
Thanks! 20 characters.
Sigh. No multi-account support on this one, either.
Clearly I have too many Gmail accounts…
Would forwarding messages to one account help? That’s what I do.
In my case, unfortunately, no. I’m not willing to have my primary (personal) account forwarded to work, and work disallows the opposite direction.
At least I have a workaround. There’s an Apple Mail MCP server that seems to work well, and it can handle multiple accounts. So I use the official Gmail connector for one account, and Apple Mail for the others. I was hoping for an all-Gmail solution.
My dream would be an MCP for Mimestream, but if such a thing exists, I haven’t found it yet.
Hi all, thanks for linking it. Super excited you are interested in my Gmail MCP. Let me know, if you have any feature requests or any problems I need to fix.
Some details on the MCP:
The MCP server runs locally on macOS and exposes 24 tools to Claude Cowork: search, read, draft, reply, forward, labels, batch operations, .eml export, attachment download, and a few macOS niceties like opening a message directly in Apple Mail. Each feature can be individually enabled.
The main difference to other Gmail MCPs I’ve seen: OAuth credentials and tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain, not in plain-text JSON files in your home directory. The same encrypted store Safari and Mail use.
(just shipped v1.0.2): small dependency cleanup: bumped googleapis to resolve a transitive uuid <14 advisory, plus the recent hono patch. Also a minor refactor that merged a few redundant tool pairs (now 24 instead of 27) and shortened all tool descriptions to keep the system-prompt overhead small. No breaking changes.
Thanks
Florian
I wholeheartedly agree on the Mimestream MCP! Hopefully this will come about soon. I submitted a suggestion on Mimestream’s website for it.
I am using the advanced Google MCP connector. I am actively running it on my 5 email accounts (including google calendar). It took a bit, but once I got through a few kinks with tokens, it’s been perfect.
Happy to share since it took more than I expected to setup.
Five accounts simultaneously? If yes, I’d much appreciate a link to the connector.
