Go / No-Go on macOS 27

Alan Dye’s legacy re-writing Apple’s quality mantra of “It just works”.

It may take until OS 28 until that’s true

I run a handful of photo processing apps which often are touchy about major OS updates. I’m also skeptical of AI features which I don’t want or need. So l will be waiting a while before I upgrade.

This is obviously anecdotal, but I have had one bad crash that the entire computer died which is very unusual in my experience. I lost a couple hours of work. By not doing more regularly saves, I had gone out on a limb. The program that I was working on in general has the capabiliity of recovering to some extent from a sudden crash (say power failure) but in this instance there was nothing. I had another experience where weird behavior started (could not get the emoji to show while constructing an email message. Had to restart the computer to get things back to normal.

It is always safer to wait for later releases. I am impatient. In general I have enjoyed Golden Gate.
