I have. Late 2011 MBP that had been working perfectly for years until last week. It looks like the GPU died as is common on fhat model. This happened just as I was getting ready to work on my taxes. Wh n at home I keep both a CCC and TM drive connected with the CCC backups run on a schedule.
We still had my wife’s old 2011 iMac that we hadn’t decided what to do with. I plugged in my CCC clone and booted it. Cloned it into the internal drive on the iMac and rebooted. All that took awhile since I was using usb 2.
A few minor tweaks to get everything the way I like it and I was able to get my taxes done.
Feeling really good about having a good backup strategy.
