Grammarly Acquires Superhuman

Surprising news - quite a pivot for Grammarly. Not sure what the repercussions will be, I hope it doesn’t mean Superhuman will lose it’s innovative edge. I guess Grammarly is seeing it’s traditional business disappear to LLMs and they need to change direction.

144 dollar Annual Prepaid subscription. They priced themselves into a hole. Ahh I didn’t realize they acquired Coda last December. So they’re moving into the SAAS suite arena.

After hearing the recent MPU podcast on email I’ve been trying out superhuman. So far I mostly like it, but I’m not excited about the Grammarly acquisition. @MacSparky does this change anything for you? I’m curious your thoughts.

Im glad the one win of Apple Intelligence for me is that it eliminated my need for Grammarly.

Can you tell us more about this? I ask because I did try the writing tools in Apple Intelligence in the early days but they seem to make things worse. It’s possible I wasn’t using them right, or maybe they’ve got a lot better… Which intrigues me

I’m actually hopeful about the acquisition. It looks like they intend to let the Superhuman team keep doing its thing and more…

Unlike David I my business and personal email has been with Gmail for many years. I almost never use the web interface, only Mimestream on the map and the Gmail client on the phone and iPad. The Google Workspace is inexpensive and reliable. I’m ready to try Superhuman soon, so @MacSparky will get another free month. By now he should be paid up through 2030!

I tried Superhuman as an experiment. I ONLY reason I did not continue - because it is Google. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The rewrites are clunky. I just need some punctuation and comma help. Which Apple Intelligence does well enough.
