Handling multiple calendars with duplicate events

I’m a guitarist in (at least) two different ensembles, both of which have shared calendars to organize rehearsals and performances. Whenever I schedule something for one, I also need to block myself out as unavailable on the other as well as a family calendar my wife has access to. This system means any event is duplicated three times makes glancing at my calendar kind of useless!

I wanted to know if anyone is dealing with similar problems and had something clever to help organize the mess, especially if it can depend less on me remembering to do the triple entry!

I solved that problem with Fantastical. There may be other solutions.

If you want an event to appear across multiple calendars, consider sending an invite to the other calendars. For example, you could send a invite to the calendar you share with your wife.
