Has anyone found a USB-C multiport dongle that is compatible with the Apple SuperDrive?

Has anyone found a USB-C multiport dongle (power pass-thru, HDMI, and USB-A at the minimum, other options like SD Card and Ethernet would be a nice bonus) that is compatible with the Apple SuperDrive? I’ve searched through several reviews and compatibility charts for devices available on Amazon but haven’t found one yet that works with the Apple SuperDrive. I could buy several and return them if they do not work, but I’m hoping someone here has done that “research” already.

I know I could just use Apple’s USB-C to USB-A dongle for this purpose, but I would like to have a single multiport device if possible.

You won’t find one. The super drive is not a USB device, it’s an IDE device. The connection is actually an IDE bridge that looks like a USB.

Remember it originally only worked on the MacBook Air (originals) and no other Mac because they didn’t have combo IDE/USB ports to support it.

Ok, that makes sense. Will I be able to use it with the Apple USB-A dongle though?

Unsure, honestly. If you have a local Apple store it might be worth going and asking/testing.

Ok, thank you for confirming that.

I too have found that only the Apple USB-C dongle works with the Apple SuperDrive. I purchased quite few to get the one feature. Only the Apple one allows it to work.
