Homebrew - setup new Mac

Friends,

I’ve been thinking about using homebrew for managing an ever increasing portion of my Mac applications. In preparation of Big Sur, (which is not ready for homebrew) I was thinking a building a batch file to install all the apps I can for a clean install. I like the brew clean/install/update/clean process of managing my apps.

Is anybody using this approach for app management or has any reasons for not moving away from the labor intensive DMG, zip, etc, installation of programs?

Any hints, tips, and installation scripts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

And to manage your settings, mackup

I recently did a nuke & pave with Big Sur on my Late 2019 15-inch MacBook Pro. I thought the Homebrew route went pretty smoothly.

Good news on your experience with BS. I’ve been holding off as I understood Homebrew was still iffy on BS.

BS is not officially supported yet.

I’m looking into doing this as well and found a couple of useful posts
