With HomeKit operations being done on the hub you have selected, would having an iPad Pro give you better facial recognition and video AI, just a few examples, than if you were using an AppleTV or HomePod?
Not sure what you mean, but I’ve got more than one device as a hub, and it always works. Any device that can function as a hub will do so.
