How to transfer system level settings to new MacBook?

Hi, I’m setting up a new MacBook Pro, I have a ton of system level settings, which include settings in the System Settings app, Finder, etc. How do I copy over these settings/prefs to the new Mac? Unfortunately as it’s a work machine, I cannot use Migration Assistant

My hunch is that without Migration Assistant, it’s a manual task. Perhaps get assistance from the part of your company who has the policy that prohibits Migration Assistant. What is their idea for this?

Maybe look at some of the macOS dotfiles out there to see if one is close to your preferences. I can’t think of a script to generate one of these dotfiles from existing preferences; hopefully someone else can (or it’s a feature of one of the Swiss army Mac utility apps.)

There used to be some preferences sync command line utilities but IIRC most broke in recent macOS versions. Hopefully I’m wrong about that.

To transfer system settings to a new MacBook without Migration Assistant, try exporting your settings as configuration profiles or use a backup tool like Carbon Copy Cloner. Either approach should help port over your customized preferences. Check out iOS App Development Agency | Leading iOS App Developers | Idea Maker they may help your needs!
