I don’t think it is because the attack vectors all make sense. It’s not like they’re describing a spooky secret hacker who bypasses the secure enclave; they’re targeting humans as the weak link and using software to aid that. Does it mean your neighborhood mugger is this smart? Not necessarily, but they have the potential to be which makes it prudent to be just that more circumspect with public phone usage and to ask our phone carriers and Apple to tighten up account recovery security.
