(PITA=Password Input Trauma Again)

My girlfriend’s MacBook Pro asks her to enter her iCloud password quite often when she wakes her laptop, saying there is a problem of some sort (sorry, she doesn’t recall the message exactly). When she puts in the password, it doesn’t work and asks if she has forgotten her password. If she reboots, everything is fine, and she doesn’t need to even enter the password.
Would appreciate any advice, it’s getting old.

Try toggling iCloud on/off, signing completely out of iCloud, then log in and complete verification steps.

As @bowline suggest, signing out of iCloud completely, then back in can resolve this (I’ve had variations several times over the years)
