I think Fantastical also syncs the tasks.
But regardless, all the more reason to be disappointed in Apple. I think Tsai mentions some sort of Apple statement that support would be coming later in the 27 releases. But Apple should have this done by now.
I’ve never used any tasks functionality in Fantastical or Office 365, so you may be right. The calendar part alone was unstable for over a year.
Apple Calendar does not synch reliably with my work calendar and company IT is locked down and won’t permit use of third-party calendar apps. I don’t blame them. They have their jobs to do.
Mail works well but I don’t see the point of using it. It’s not significantly better than Outlook.
Not if you are using Microsoft Exchange on a corporate computer.
It supports AppleScript, which Outlook doesn’t. That’s niche among most people, but among power users, its a great feature.
Why not just use Outlook Web?
Oh goodness. So, is it likely that come October, Outlook will no longer sync with Apple Calendar at all? Is that correct?
Built my own MarvinOS that populates my Outlook work calendar with tasks, via the macOS calendar connection. If that no longer works in a few months time, I’m in for a world of pain—after just getting things working nicely.
Is this only for particular flavours of Outlook?

Losing Applescript support for Hookmark integration was bad enough, losing the direct feed into Devonthink was even worse—but losing the calendar integration is really going to, well, suck. (I have no more eloquent words left after a long day. But “suck” pretty much covers things.)

Right now I’m looking at MailMaven and Fantastical as replacements. We’ll see where this goes.
AFAIK Google Calendar will still sync with Outlook calendar after October. And Apple Calendar will sync with Google Calendar.
So what are the odds that Apple calendar would see everything, on the combined Google Calendar?
