Inaccurate calendar events data in lockscreen widgets

Right now, my phone’s lock screen is showing that an event is starting in 44 minutes. Great! Except… it’s actually starting in two minutes.

This seems to happen with every calendar app. Am I missing something on keeping it more accurate?

I’m guessing that it’s a limitation of the performance-efficient lock screen widgets, but it’s frustrating that calendar makers insist on putting in a countdown. It would be far better to simply say “Up next: [event],” so that I don’t trust something that might be wrong.

I think it’s widget related, yes. I see the same thing and I assume it’s related to refresh intervals.

Kind of makes the lock screen widgets like this pointless.

Live Activities are a worthy replacement to get something on the lock screen, I suppose, but I’m having trouble getting them to show up consistently.
