Hi all - I typically prefer using the Apple TV remote app on my iPhone rather than the hardware remote, since it’s easier to type into it.
Our main Apple TV updated itself to the latest TVOS, but my iPhone is still on iOS 14. Now the “Remote” app no longer connects to that Apple TV but does connect to the other older one in the house.
It looks like the “Remote” app, though still installed on my phone, is now unknown to the App Store. An Apple’s support page (Set up the Apple TV Remote on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support ) says to enable it in the Control Center. Having done that, I now have a newer UI with directional buttons and no swiping - probably better as the swipe UI used to overshoot frequently.
